About MJSSCo Mt. Juliet Sport & Social Co. is a social-focused bar and restaurant built around great food, drinks, sports, events, and a welcoming neighborhood atmosphere. Our kitchen is pizza-focused, while also serving wings, quesadillas, and classic bar food favorites. We are looking for a dependable, hardworking cook who can keep up in a fast‑paced environment, take pride in consistent food quality, and work well as part of a team. Job Summary The Cook is responsible for preparing and executing menu items quickly, consistently, and according to MJSSCo standards. This position requires attention to detail, cleanliness, teamwork, and the ability to stay organized during busy shifts. The ideal candidate has experience in a kitchen, bar, pizza shop, or fast‑casual restaurant, but we are willing to train the right person with a good attitude and strong work ethic. Responsibilities Prepare pizzas, wings, quesadillas, appetizers, and other bar food menu items according to recipes and standards. Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, fryers, warmers, and prep equipment. Maintain consistent food quality, portion control, presentation, and ticket times. Complete food prep before and during service, including sauces, toppings, proteins, vegetables, and side items. Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and storage procedures. Keep the kitchen clean, organized, stocked, and ready for service. Handle busy periods with urgency, focus, and communication. Restock stations, rotate product, label/date items, and help reduce waste. Wash dishes, take out trash, sweep, mop, and complete closing/opening duties as needed. Work with front‑of‑house staff to ensure orders are accurate and guests have a great experience. Communicate supply needs, equipment issues, or quality concerns to management. Requirements Kitchen experience preferred, especially with pizza, fryers, wings, or bar food. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work nights and weekends. Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast‑paced kitchen. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to follow recipes, checklists, and food safety procedures. Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to jump in wherever needed. Must be able to stay calm and organized during rushes. Food safety certification is a plus, but not required. Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is reliable, coachable, and takes pride in their work. You do not need to be a chef, but you do need to care about doing things the right way. At MJSSCo, consistency matters. Guests should get the same great pizza, wings, and bar food every time they come in. Schedule Evening and weekend availability is required.
