Details/n /n - Pediatric respiratory therapy unit at a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center and Level 2 Stroke Center hospital /n - Patient population includes pediatric, PICU, and NICU patients across an estimated 62-bed combined unit /n - Equipment used includes Draeger VN500, Hamilton G-5, Oscillator, and Jet Vent /n - EMR: Epic /n - Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:30–07:00) /n - Float requirements: floating within peds/neonatal areas as required by the facility /n - No weekend hours required /n - No on-call requirements /n - 13-week assignment /n Requirements/n /n - Graduate of an accredited college program in Respiratory Care /n - Minimum 2 years of pediatric and/or neonatal experience required /n - Prior neonatal and pediatric intensive care experience required /n - Current RRT credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) /n - Current certifications required: BLS (AHA only), NRP, and PALS /n - Current state license required (license required if applicable) /n - Valid U.S. Social Security Number required /n - No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months /n Additional Information/n /n - Responsibilities include initiating and managing mechanical ventilation, performing respiratory care interventions, assisting physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and documenting patient care accurately in Epic /n - Participates in physician rounds, communicates patient goals and status changes to the interdisciplinary care team, and contributes to care plan updates /n - Responsible for equipment maintenance including changing, processing, and stocking supplies, as well as O2 tank replacement /n - Expected to function as a resource or preceptor and participate in departmental meetings, huddles, and in-services /n - Black scrubs required; no other scrub colors are accepted /n - Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted /n - Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) is allowed but must be made up during the assignment /n - Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but are subject to a reduced bill rate /n - Local candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year separation or transfer to a facility outside the 50-mile radius /n - Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment unless documentation of a scheduled renewal is provided /n /n /n American Traveler Job ID #P-715548.
