Job Description The role of an interpreter is to facilitate understanding in communication between people who speak different languages. The professional interpreter interprets between two languages in such a way that effective communications takes place between the participating language speakers/signers. Affordable Language Services is the leading provider of medical interpreters in the Tri-State area. Due to the growth of certain languages spoken in our area, we need to hire more interpreters. Responsibilities Render accurate, comprehensive and professional interpreting services per the national Code of Ethics. Interpreting activity is performed in compliance with the IMIA Standards of Practice, National Standards of Practice for Interpreters in Health Care, and the Code of Ethics. Maintain professional standards by attending continuing education trainings to maintain the highest standards for delivery of service. Speak, read, andwrite fluently in ENGLISH and TARGET language Qualifications At least a high school education The ability to speak English and at least one other language at a fluent level ( or Sign Language) Willing to be trained in medical or legal interpreting (offered periodically in Cincinnati for a fee) Sensitive to cultures other than your own Legally able to work in the United States Willing to do screening including: TB test, drug test, and FBI background check Able to provide documentation of MMR/Varicella immunizations Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines. #J-18808-Ljbffr Affordable Language Services
