Inventory Specialist for Sky CafeThe Inventory Specialist for Sky Cafe will manage and accurately record commissary shipments using our inventory management system and ensure efficient inventory controls. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and organized work environment, conducting weekly physical inventory counts, and ensuring product usage adheres to expiration dates. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, the ability to follow complex instructions, and strong problem-solving skills. Ideal candidates should demonstrate proficiency in using technology for inventory management and possess excellent communication abilities.Oversee inventory to ensure essential supplies are always available, minimizing the risk of shortages that could disrupt airport operationsRegularly check inventory accuracy against records, identifying and correcting any discrepancies to maintain reliable inventory dataKeep detailed and up-to-date records of inventory quantities and locations using inventory management software for easy trackingWork closely with procurement and logistics to order and receive supplies in a timely manner, avoiding stockoutsEstablish and maintain efficient systems for managing inventory, including automated tracking, and reordering processesEducate airport staff on proper inventory management practices to ensure consistency and accuracy across departmentsWork with various departments like maintenance and operations to understand their specific inventory requirementsEnsure all stored items meet safety and regulatory standards, particularly important in the airport environmentGenerate regular reports detailing inventory levels, usage, and projections for management reviewManage the processes of receiving, storing, and dispatching goods, ensuring accuracy and timelinessDevelop and uphold policies and procedures to maintain consistent inventory management practicesContribute to budget planning by analyzing and forecasting inventory-related costsProvide training to staff on inventory systems or technologies, ensuring smooth implementation and usagePerform any additional duties as assigned by managementMust be 18 years of age or olderMust be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.Must hold a valid driver's license.Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)High School DiplomaPrevious experience in inventory management or related rolesProficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft OfficeStrong attention to detail and accuracy in data entryEffective communication and teamwork skillsKnowledge of inventory control practices and proceduresAbility to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads /Tablets, Computers, and Mobile DevicesEffectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic meansPass a background check and drug screenEligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable).Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidaysAbility to lift up to 70 poundsProlonged standing and walking in an indoor/outdoor environment as applicableMay need to reach with arms and grasp with handsMay need to push, pullMust be able to crawl and crouch, at times, in confined tight spacesMay need to bend, stretch, squat, kneelExposure to moderate and at times high noise levelsExposure to Biohazards and/or ChemicalsExposure to outdoor elementsBe able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarmsTasks may involve repetitive motions of the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingersSpecific vision abilities required for this job include: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)The pay rate listed on this post is what the company reasonably expects to pay for this position.
