This role will report to Sr. Director, Reliability Engineering.Location: This position will be fully Onsite based in San Jose, CARole and Responsibilities:Perform root-cause analyses for field return solid oxide fuel cell products to drive reliability improvement.Develop reliability test plans of solid oxide fuel cell products for continuous improvement.Gather and validate data from multiple databases using Python, SQL or other methods to complete analyses on performance, reliability and degradation for Bloom Energy fuel cell systems.Work with others in Quality, Product Development, Field Service and Remote Monitoring to gather and analyze information to support root cause and corrective actions of product failures and other operational incidents.Support efforts to improve data collection and databases for effective and efficient analysis.Develop methods to automate repeated analyses to allow for effective and efficient monitoring of fleet performance and reliability metrics.Develop reliability block diagram and Monte Carlo simulations and provide data to Product development, Service, Marketing, Finance and others to support predictions of service replacements and costs associated with supporting Bloom Energy fuel cell products.Organize data input into Excel and JMP statistical analysis package to complete critical reliability analyses.Work with Service, Operations, Quality Engineering and Product Development to interpret the results of analyses to lead continuous improvement of product performance, degradation and reliability.Create PowerPoint presentations summarizing the analyses completed with assumptions, conclusions and recommendations for customer and internal audiences.Skills and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Reliability or Systems engineering with 5 years of relevant experiencePreferable track of study or work experience in Reliability Engineering and / or data analytics.Familiar with data mining skills including expertise in SQL and Python with discipline and attention to detail for data and analysis, validation and accuracy. Familiar with data analysis using JMP, Minitab or other statistical analysis programs and Tableau for data visualization.Reliability Block Diagram, Fault Tree Analysis, or Markov modelling using Reliasoft or other modelling software is a plus.Perform Root Cause and Corrective Actions (RCCA) using Six Sigma or 8D methods to solve complex problems working with cross-functional teams.Strong PC and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint experience to enable the creation of professional reliability reports and presentations.For more information visit: and view a video on What Powers Us!Bloom Energy is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions on the basis of merit.
