Office Leader - Life Sciences A/E Consulting

Our client is an architecture, engineering, and construction management firm focused on pharmaceutical and biotech facilities. Their work includes process and MEP engineering, process architecture, lab planning, and commissioning and qualification. They already serve clients in Maryland and are opening an office in the region to support that work and expand it.The roleThe Office Leader will open and run the Maryland office and serve as the firm's senior representative in the Maryland and DC market.The position is based in Silver Spring, MD. Most of the work is in Maryland and the DC area.What you would be doing:Office leadershipSet up and run the Maryland office day to dayManage the office's financial performance, including utilizationHire and develop architects and engineers as the office growsClient relationships and business developmentServe as the primary contact for the firm's clients in Maryland and the DC areaExpand work with existing clients and develop new ones across the region's pharmaceutical and biotech marketLead proposals, including scope, fee, and scheduleRepresent the firm in the local life science community, including ISPE and other industry eventsProject deliveryOversee projects from planning and design through construction and commissioningCoordinate with the firm's other offices to put the right technical staff on each projectKeep projects on budget, on schedule, and in line with GMP requirementsWhat we are looking forRegistered architect or licensed Professional EngineerSignificant experience leading pharmaceutical or biotech facility projects, including managing the client relationshipEstablished relationships in the Maryland and DC life science marketExperience managing staff and project teamsWorking knowledge of GMP requirements for life science facilitiesPrior office or department leadership experience is a plusType: direct hire
