Overview Senior Human Resources Generalist About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Generalist to join our HR team. This role is a key partner to leadership and employees, playing a critical role in ensuring a positive employee experience while supporting business objectives through effective HR partnership, process execution, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Employee Relations Lead and conduct employee relations investigations from intake through resolution Partner with leaders to address complex workplace issues and ensure fair, consistent outcomes Recommend and document appropriate corrective actions Use HR data, trends, and insights to guide decisions and recommendations Manager Coaching & Development Coach managers on performance management, conflict resolution, and employee engagement Provide guidance on handling sensitive employee issues and applying company policies Support development of leadership capabilities through training and ongoing coaching HR Programs & Compliance Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO) Support audits and maintain accurate HR documentation and reporting (EEO-1, OSHA, etc.) Help maintain and improve HR policies and procedures HRIS & Process Improvement Maintain accurate employee data and reporting within the HRIS Analyze HR data and generate insights to support business decisions Partner with HR Systems to enhance HRIS functionality and processes Training & Team Development Identify training needs and deliver programs focused on employee relations, compliance, and leadership skills Develop practical tools and resources for managers Mentor junior HR team members and contribute to overall team capability Additional Responsibilities Oversee fiscal year-end HR processes, including personnel changes and system updates Support HR projects and process improvement initiatives Support job evaluation and career progression frameworks Required Qualifications 7+ years of progressive HR experience (or a minimum of 5 years of experience as an HR Generalist at Hamamatsu), with strong expertise in employee relations and investigations Proven ability to independently conduct investigations and advise on complex employee matters Strong experience coaching managers and influencing decision-making Solid understanding of employment laws and HR best practices Experience working with HRIS systems and using data to drive decisions Excellent communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities Preferred Qualifications 8–10+ years of HR experience in a generalist or HRBP role Experience with job evaluation, job architecture, and compensation practices HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or HRCI) Experience supporting HR systems or process improvements Pay Range The target base salary for this role at commencement of employment is expected to be between $90,000 - $120,000 annually. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and qualifications.
