QA Control Technician

Job Description

QA Control Technician provides non-technical or basic technical support to laboratory personnel. Maintains glassware by picking-up, cleaning, washing, sterilizing, and distributing. Keeps laboratory supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt. Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions. Troubleshoots breakdowns, maintains supplies, performs preventive maintenance, and calls for repairs. Documents information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books. Resolves problems by examining and evaluating data; selects corrective steps.

Responsibilities

• Follow all established safety rules and guidelines, LOTO, SOP's, Respirator, JSA, Confined space, Fall protection and proper PPE (Training provided)
• Test and analyzes whole grain and ground silica products in accordance with established procedures. Completes certificate of Analysis.
• Inspects starts, operates and stops all lab equipment and machinery in accordance with established limits and procedures.
• Cleans and maintains orderliness of facilities.
• Read, understand and maintain all QC required records and record data.
• Communicate with Operations Leadership and team lead all lab results as required by US Silica standards.
• Ability to proactively work with other team members.
• Customer Sample Preparation.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Highschool Degree or GED Required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
• High level of safety and quality required.
• Ability to operate automatic and manual samplers, screens, ro-tap machines, hot tensile machines, misc. lab equipment and materials, scales, etc.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Communicates with supervisor, Team lead and operator to insure continuity of operations.
• Completes required reports and turns them in at designated times and places.
• Computer knowledge required.
• Adapt to additional duties as needed, cross train.
