The Special Events Captain is responsible for directly supervising the specific events they are assigned to. This includes the planning, set up, execution and tear down of each specific event.

Responsibilities include overseeing and coordinating all aspects of banquet and private event operations, leading and supervising banquet staff, ensuring they deliver exceptional service and adhere to established standards, collaborating with event planners and clients to understand their needs and preferences, ensuring seamless execution of events, setting up banquet rooms according to event specifications and maintaining a keen eye for detail, monitoring event timelines and coordinating with various departments to ensure smooth execution, training and mentoring banquet staff to uphold service standards and enhance their skills, handling guest inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally, maintaining inventory and ensuring proper storage and handling of banquet equipment, collaborating with the culinary team to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of food and beverages, upholding cleanliness and organization in banquet areas, adhering to health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications include 3+ years of proven experience as a Banquet Captain or similar role in a high-end restaurant or hospitality setting, exceptional organizational and leadership skills, strong communication and interpersonal abilities, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, knowledge of banquet and event planning processes, familiarity with food and beverage service, including wine and cocktail knowledge, flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Strength demands include regular lifting, moving and carrying of food items, furniture, garbage etc. weighing up to 30 pounds across the restaurant, regular and prolonged standing and walking inside and outside the restaurant during a 6-8 hour shift with appropriate breaks, regular ascending/descending stairs, repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers, frequent use of hand to finger motions, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms.
