Role Overview

The Senior Business Technical Consultant will lead the development of business and systems architecture strategies, focusing on treasury management, SAP integrations, and enterprise financial systems. This strategic role combines technical expertise, business process optimization, and stakeholder collaboration to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable solutions. You will oversee complex system implementations, coordinate integrations between financial platforms, and improve treasury operations through automation, analytics, and process enhancements. Working closely with Treasury, Finance, Accounting, IT, banking partners, and external vendors, you will translate business needs into effective technical solutions. You will also guide architectural decisions, manage system enhancements, and ensure data integrity, operational resilience, and compliance with established controls. • Develop and implement business and application architecture strategies aligned with organizational objectives, treasury operations, and long-term technology requirements.
• Serve as a strategic systems advisor, translating complex business needs into sustainable technical solutions and scalable application architectures.
• Lead requirements gathering, analysis, and refinement for large and complex software implementations, ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical deliverables.
• Architect and coordinate integrations across treasury platforms, SAP systems, banking applications, data platforms, and other enterprise technologies.
• Oversee the design, development, enhancement, maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and support of business applications and integrated systems.
• Lead architectural review sessions, evaluate proposed solutions, provide technical recommendations, and oversee go/no-go decisions for major initiatives.
• Manage vendors and external technology partners, ensuring contractual obligations, service-level agreements, delivery standards, and business requirements are met.
• Act as product owner for integrated system solutions and reporting capabilities, guiding development priorities, implementation activities, and ongoing enhancements.
• Support treasury technology operations, including cash positioning, cash forecasting, payments, investments, bank connectivity, financial reporting, and related workflows.
• Coordinate banking integrations and financial data interfaces, including BAI2, EDI 822, ISO 20022, APIs, SFTP, host-to-host connections, bank feeds, and payment reporting mechanisms.
• Oversee treasury system configurations, user roles, access entitlements, approval authorities, segregation of duties, access reviews, release testing, upgrades, and production support.
• Analyze complex technical and operational issues, investigate transaction and data exceptions, resolve system discrepancies, and implement improvements that strengthen reliability and performance.
• Validate bank account and general ledger mappings, support reconciliations and reporting, and maintain treasury data integrity and audit-ready documentation.
• Lead testing and implementation activities, including test planning, test script development, user acceptance testing, regression testing, defect management, and deployment coordination.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, operating procedures, knowledge management resources, and support standards to promote consistency and operational effectiveness.
• Drive process improvement, automation, and control enhancements through ongoing analysis of system performance, business processes, and emerging technology opportunities.
• Collaborate with Treasury, SAP Finance, Finance Systems Support, IT, Accounting, banks, vendors, and Internal Audit to deliver cross-functional initiatives and resolve business-critical issues.
• Mentor and coach team members, provide technical guidance and constructive feedback, support professional development, and contribute to a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Provide production support for time-sensitive business issues, including global on-call coverage and occasional after-hours assistance as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 6 years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, business technology consulting, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience managing vendors against contractual obligations, defined service-level agreements, and delivery expectations.
• Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships, coordinate cross-functional initiatives, and implement organizational process changes.
• Strong knowledge of treasury management systems, SAP S/4HANA Treasury, Trovata or comparable cash management platforms, Clearwater, banking portals, ERP systems, and financial applications is highly desirable.
• Experience supporting treasury operations such as cash positioning, forecasting, payment processing, investments, bank account administration, and financial reporting.
• Practical knowledge of banking connectivity and financial data exchange standards, including BAI2, EDI 822, ISO 20022, APIs, SFTP, host-to-host connections, bank feeds, and payment interfaces.
• Understanding of domestic and international wire transfers, ACH payments, checks, positive pay, payment approval workflows, fraud prevention controls, account openings and closures, and banking service administration.
• Experience with treasury system configuration, access management, role and entitlement controls, segregation of duties, approval workflows, release management, system upgrades, and production support.
• Ability to translate treasury business needs into technical specifications, coordinate system integrations, develop test scripts, lead user acceptance and regression testing, manage defects, and support deployments.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with strong data analysis skills and the ability to work with large datasets, identify discrepancies, and produce meaningful insights.
• Experience with Cognos, SQL, Power BI, data-query tools, dashboards, or comparable reporting and analytics technologies.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to diagnose complex system issues and develop practical, sustainable solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and adapt communication to business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and senior leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment, manage competing priorities, make informed decisions, and maintain accuracy in time-sensitive situations.
• Experience coordinating system changes, validating financial data, supporting reconciliations, improving controls, and maintaining comprehensive technical and audit documentation.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills, including experience coaching colleagues, training users, facilitating discussions, and guiding cross-functional projects.
• Ability to provide global production support on an on-call basis, including occasional after-hours availability when business needs require.
• Experience working in a global, multi-entity, or complex treasury environment is preferred.
• A Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation is considered an advantage.
