We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bridal Alterations Specialist to join our bridal shop team. This position plays an important role in helping brides achieve the perfect fit for their wedding gown and ensuring they have a positive and personalized experience throughout the alteration process. The ideal candidate has strong sewing and garment alteration skills, excellent attention to detail, and enjoys working directly with brides and their families.

Responsibilities

• Perform and assist with alterations on bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and other formalwear
• Conduct bridal fittings and take accurate measurements to determine alteration needs
• Consult with brides to understand their desired fit and alterations
• Pin, mark, and make adjustments to gowns based on individual fit and style requirements
• Perform hemming, taking in and letting out garments, bustle installation, sleeve and strap adjustments, and other bridal alterations
• Work with delicate fabrics, lace, beading, appliques, and other bridal gown details
• Communicate clearly with clients regarding alteration recommendations, timelines, and final fittings
• Schedule and manage fitting appointments and maintain an organized alteration schedule
• Coordinate alteration work and appointments with other seamstresses and bridal shop staff
• Inspect completed alterations to ensure quality, proper fit, and attention to detail
• Provide professional, friendly, and personalized customer service throughout the alteration process
• Maintain a clean and organized fitting and work area

Qualifications

• Previous experience performing garment alterations, tailoring, or professional sewing is required
• Bridal or formalwear alteration experience is strongly preferred
• Experience working with wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, or other delicate/formal garments is a plus
• Strong knowledge of sewing techniques, garment construction, and alterations
• Ability to accurately measure, pin, and fit garments
• Experience working with delicate fabrics, lace, beading, and embellishments preferred
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Comfortable working directly with brides and providing guidance regarding fit and alterations
• Ability to manage multiple appointments and meet alteration deadlines
• 1+ years of professional sewing or alteration experience preferred
