Key Responsibilities

• Performing thorough patient evaluations, ordering essential diagnostic tests, and creating personalized care plans
• Diagnosing and managing acute, episodic, or chronic conditions autonomously or in collaboration with physicians (depending on your credentials)
• Instructing patients and their families on disease prevention, health promotion, and ongoing management

Education Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree

Essential Certifications

• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or equivalent certification
