Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiovascular Care Unit (CCU) offering night shifts and requiring NIH Stroke Certification and cardiac care experience.

Details

• 28-bed Cardiovascular Care Unit caring for acute cardiac patients, including cath lab cases (ablations, PFO closures, stents, pacers)
• Also cares for stroke patients and PCU overflow as needed
• Patient ratio of 4-5:1
• Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Scheduling requires at least every 3rd weekend and 3 shifts per week
• Floating required to like units such as Ortho/Neuro/CCU/CDU/SSU/Obs/Rehab
• Uses EKG, bladder scanner, sit-to-stand lift, Hoyer lift, hover mat, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis
• Documentation via Meditech EBCD

Requirements

• Active KS or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Basic Dysrhythmia and NIH Stroke Certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in telemetry/cardiac specialty
• Cardiac care experience is a plus
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Work in a highly team-oriented cardiac unit supported by an unencumbered charge nurse and clinical educator
• Engaged cardiology staff, including physicians and cath lab team, support unit culture
• Unit emphasizes documentation compliance and infection prevention related to central lines, foleys, and C. diff
• Focus on patient experience through daily Nurse Leader Rounds and 2X2 patient care standards
• Required uniform: royal blue scrub tops, royal blue or black pants, with grey, white, black, or royal blue undershirt
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered
