Director Of Housekeeping# Director Of HousekeepingHilton St Louis at the Ballpark - St Louis, MO 63102## DescriptionPosition Title: Director of Housekeeping Department: Housekeeping Reports To: Date Written/Revised: July 1, 2014POSITION SUMMARY Manage the day-to-day and long term operations of the Housekeeping and Laundry departments.EXAMPLES OF DUTIESESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Manage the daily operations of the Housekeeping, and where applicable, the Laundry departments. Responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning of the departments. Manage the selection, training and development of associates with an eye toward maximum associate satisfaction, productivity and guest satisfaction. Conduct regular inspections of the property to ensure adherence to cleanliness and maintenance standards. Manage operating expenses to maximize costs while providing excellent guest services. Coordinate department’s activities with other departments to facilitate increased levels of communication and guest satisfaction. Bear ultimate responsibility for monitoring consumption and ordering replacement of guest and cleaning supplies. Oversee divisional matters as they relate to federal, state and local employment and civil rights laws.SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities to be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process. Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written. Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required. Must possess basic computational ability. Must possess basic computer skills. Most tasks are performed in a team environment with the associate acting as a team leader. There is minimal direct supervision. Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights, occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues, and labor relations, including, but not limited to the following statutes and their state and local analogues (where applicable): Title VII, ADEA, Equal Pay Act, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, FLSA, ADA, OSHA, FMLA, and NLRA.## QualificationsQUALIFICATION STANDARDSEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Minimum five years management experience with at least three years in housekeeping management at progressively higher levels of responsibility.GROOMING All associates must maintain a neat, clean and well groomed appearance (specific standards available).FLSA Designation exemptOTHER Upon employment all associates are required to comply with the standards, rules and regulations which may be established by the Company and updated from time to time. Associates who violate property rules or have irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.The Hospitality business functions seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules, weekends, holidays and overtime to reflect the business needs of the property. Associates may also be required to attend group and/or department meetings in addition to the work shift as necessary.
