OverviewWe are looking for seasoned Data Engineer to work with our team and our clients to develop enterprise grade data platforms, services, and pipelines within an AI-enabled software development environment. We are looking for more than just a "Data Engineer". We are looking for a technologist with excellent communication and customer service skills and a passion for data and problem solving. ContributionsResponsibilities include: Lead and architect migration of data environments with performance and reliabilityAssess and understand the ETL jobs, workflows, BI tools, and reportsAddress technical inquiries concerning customization, integration, enterprise architecture and general feature / functionality of data productsExperience in crafting database / data warehouse solutions in cloud (preferably AWS)Key must have skill sets – Python, AWSSupport an Agile software development lifecycleYou will contribute to the growth of our Data Exploitation Practice!QualificationsAbility to hold a position of public trust with the US governmentBachelor's degree and 5+ years total experience 2-4 years industry experience coding commercial software and a passion for solving complex problems2-4 years direct experience in Data Engineering with experience in tools such as:Big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etcRelational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Postgres and CassandraData pipeline and workflow management tools: Azkaban, Luigi, Airflow, etcAWS cloud services: EC2, EMR, RDS, RedshiftData streaming systems: Storm, Spark-Streaming, etcSearch tools: Solr, Lucene, ElasticsearchObject-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, Scala, etcAdvanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring and optimization (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databasesExperience with message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data storesExperience manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large, disconnected datasetsExperience manipulating structured and unstructured data for analysisExperience constructing complex queries to analyze results using databases or in a data processing development environmentExperience with data modeling tools and processExperience architecting data systems (transactional and warehouses)Experience aggregating results and/or compiling information for reporting from multiple datasetsExperience working in an Agile environmentExperience supporting project teams of developers and data scientists who build web-based interfaces, dashboards, reports, and analytics/machine learning modelsAbout steampunkSteampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $110,000 to $160,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
