The position focuses on originating and closing loans from internal and external sources, including conventional, government, and construction loans. The role emphasizes achieving high volume, accurate, and timely completion of residential mortgage origination functions.Core Job Requirements/OutcomesMeet mortgage loan production standards by performing high volume lending functions accurately, timely, and in alignment with STCU loan standards and procedures.Guide qualified borrowers through the mortgage loan origination process successfully by setting clear expectations with borrowers on timelines, loan conditions and closing dates, as well as evaluating loan application materials and making recommendations that align with STCU policies and/or secondary market guidelines.Identify and coordinate opportunities with other departments to maximize their expertise to fulfill corporate objectives and extend financial aid by being proficient in STCU's products, systems, and procedures as well as developing strong relationships.Other Essential FunctionsMaintain accurate and current knowledge of all residential loan programs, guidelines, and procedures; to include conventional, Government (FHA/VA), construction, and other STCU portfolio products.Evaluate loan applications, credit reports, title reports, appraisals, inspections and supporting documentationTake ownership of issues by acting as the member's advocate.Follow through on all commitments.Maintain knowledge in and adhere to policies, procedures, and established processes in order to support compliance requirements for the department and the organization overall.Recommend policy / procedural changes and process improvements to assist in the achievement of the strategic goals of the organization.Contribute to and support a positive work environment to ensure an effective, high performing and cohesive team.QualificationsKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesHigh School Diploma or equivalent is required. Some college is strongly preferred.Minimum of three years mortgage lending experience in a financial services environment. This includes knowledge of mortgage terms, title insurance and required mortgage processing procedures.National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration under the terms of the SAFE Act of 2008 is required.Proficient knowledge of MS Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.Physical AbilitiesMust be able to regularly talk, hear, see and operate a computer keyboard and mouse.Occasionally lift, pull/push, and carry up to 10 pounds.Work EnvironmentExposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting.Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.Additional InformationReady to apply?
