We are a boutique accounting firm located on the Upper-west side and in business for 40 years. It’s a small friendly office environment with a great view of the Hudson River. Looking for someone 2-3 days a week with more full time work during personal and corporate tax deadlines. Must be discreet and handle highly confidential information.

The CPA should be well versed in preparation of income tax returns with a focus on moderate to complex corporate, partnership, estate, trust and individual tax returns and sales tax returns. Preparer to work closely with and reporting to our senior CPA tax preparer and office manager. Supports company’s tax return operations by maintaining management of tax return activities for various corporate and individual clients.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

• Prepare moderate to complex tax returns (federal/state), multi-state and multi-source income as well as Estates, Trusts, and Sales Tax filings.
• Prepare forecast and reconciliation of tax returns.
• QuickBooks for general ledger work and Tax write ups
• Review and analyze tax files in order to compile and organize client tax data in preparation for tax return processing.
• Draft responses to notices from tax authorities
• Assist with Tax Audits and prepare and file NYSIF worker's compensation audits
• Help resolve tax notices.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Licensed CPA
• 5+ years in qualified Accounting/tax prep firm/prepare moderate to complex corporate, partnership and individual returns

Required Abilities and Skills:

• An experienced CPA with personal, Corp, Estate, and Trust tax filings
• Extremely proficient in Proseries and Quickbooks.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Detailed oriented with strong organizational skills
• Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Fluent in English, both oral and written
• Excellent judgment, able to prioritize workload, and manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
