Test Engineer

Job Responsibilities Maintain and develop new and existing In-Circuit Test programs, Flying Probe, and board/device level programmers. Work closely with test technicians and operators to provide testing support and troubleshooting of complex PCB assemblies. Collaborate with engineering on development and test strategies for new products. Qualifications Degree in Electrical, Computing Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience accepted. Preferred: 5+ years of experience in a related field, especially automotive and manufacturing industries. Background in electronics strongly preferred; knowledge of cyber security preferred. Understanding of analog and digital testing concepts. Preferred understanding of metrics and continuous improvement techniques (e.g., FPY, FMEA, DFMEA). Preferred proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Python, VB. Demonstrated initiative to learn new processes and technologies from scratch. Demonstrated ability to research and recommend new products and processes, and to implement continuous improvement processes. Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. to manage test fixtures. Ability to support flexible hours dependent on business needs. Strong organizational, project management, and leadership skills; ability to prioritize, coordinate projects, and multitask. Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other employees. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project). Strong problem‑solving skills, including identifying and troubleshooting issues. Ability to work independently and to create experiments to detect and root cause manufacturing and product issues. Experience in a dynamic, fast‑paced manufacturing environment and with cross‑functional teams. Role Expectations Support manufacturing with failure analysis, tester debugging, reduction of intermittent failures and downtime of test equipment. Prepare recommendations for testing and documentation from the product design phase through to initial production. Generate reports and analysis of test data, preparing documentation and recommendations. Review circuit board designs for testability requirements. Review test equipment designs, data and RMA issues with customers regularly. Design, and direct engineering and technical personnel in fabrication of testing and test control apparatus and equipment. Direct and coordinate engineering activities related to development, procurement, installation and calibration of instruments and control devices required for testing. Determine conditions under which tests are conducted and sequences and phases of test operations. Perform moderately complex engineering test assignments for standard and/or custom devices. Analyze and interpret test data and prepare technical reports for use by test engineering and management personnel. Perform development and maintenance techniques for test equipment. Provide training on new procedures to production testing staff. Occasional travel may be required.
