Job Description and Duties

Under the supervision of the Supervisor I, the Analyst I performs analytical, technical, and administrative duties related to the review, evaluation and preparation of program recommendations for Division of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS) apprenticeship and pre- apprenticeship programs Statewide to ensure compliance of Labor Code requirements. The Analyst I assists in determining program compliance with statutory requirements, prepares evaluation reports and recommendations, provides technical assistance to program sponsors, and maintains program records to support DAS’ oversight of approved apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs.

Working Conditions

The incumbent works 40 hours per week in an office setting. Air-conditioned, high-rise building with elevator access, cubicle with natural and artificial lighting. Monday - Friday - 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., four days working in the office (Governor Newsom’s Executive Order N-22-25).

Special Requirements

Question: This position requires reviewing pre-apprenticeship programs for compliance with Labor Code, Regulations, and program standards. Describe your experience reviewing or evaluating documents, Identifying deficiencies, and making recommendations.

Directions:
1. Submit a separate piece of 8 ½ x 11 paper, Titled “Statement of Qualifications”.
2. Responses must be typewritten, using no smaller than an Arial 12-point font
3. Must limit to two pages.
4. Clearly identify each response by question number.
5. Failure to follow these instructions may result in disqualification.

1. Experience in program evaluation, data analysis or a related field.
2. Knowledge of apprenticeship standards and regulations.
3. Collaborative mindset to work with coordinators, employers, and other stakeholders.
4. Proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare comprehensive reports, communicate findings clearly.
6. Familiarity with relevant software and tools for data analysis, reporting, and communication.
7. Demonstrate initiative, dependability, and punctuality.
8. Ability to create an environment that promotes teamwork and respect, and collaborates to resolve issues.
9. Detailed- oriented, efficient and organized.
10.Demonstrate tact, impartiality, and flexibility.
