Food Scientist

Hiring: Food Scientist Location: East Hanover, NJ Duration: 6 Months (Onsite) Pay range-$32/hr. - $41/hr. Job Description We are seeking a Senior Food Scientist / Flavor Analytical Scientist to support flavor research and analytical projects focused on biscuits and baked snacks. The role will involve developing analytical methods, operating SPME-GC, GC, GC-MS, and LC instrumentation, and interpreting flavor analysis data. Key Responsibilities Set up and support SPME-GC equipment and establish validated analytical methods. Conduct GC, GC-MS, LC, and SPME analyses across various food matrices. Perform flavor extraction, identification, and quantification of aroma compounds. Develop capabilities for untargeted flavor analysis. Plan and execute laboratory experiments in accordance with GMP. Interpret analytical data and prepare technical reports and recommendations. Support flavor research teams by testing hypotheses and providing technical insights. Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and instrument vendors. Ensure accurate QA data checking, documentation, and laboratory compliance. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in food science, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related field. Hands‑on experience with GC, GC‑MS, LC, and/or SPME. Experience in analytical method development/validation and data interpretation. Knowledge of flavor chemistry, aroma compounds, and food matrices preferred. Strong laboratory, documentation, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Experience in food, flavor, beverage, bakery, snacks, or consumer products is a plus.
