Construction Project Representative

Role Summary We are seeking a Construction Project Representative to join our Construction Services team in the Florida Panhandle. The role supports highway project field inspections and oversight, working with an established team to expand our presence throughout the region. Responsibilities Inspect construction on highway and transportation projects to verify compliance with approved plans and specifications. Conduct day‑to‑day field and inspection activities, including material sampling, testing, and measurement of quantities. Assist with pre‑construction meetings, progress reviews, and conflict resolution meetings; negotiate and prepare construction change orders. Interact and communicate with clients, contractors, and other SEH personnel. Participate in production activities while in the office for candidates with skills in AutoCAD or MicroStation. Assist in the development of proposals, estimating project budgets and schedules, and completing constructability reviews. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Strong experience in the construction field serving as a Construction Project Representative or a related role. Good communication skills and the ability to work independently. Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and over rough terrain associated with construction sites. Ability to travel for team meetings, client consultations, and on‑site observations; occasional overnight travel may be required. MVR records check verifying a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets SEH’s Driving Program requirements. Preferred Qualifications Two or more years of experience as a Construction Project Representative on FDOT, County or Municipal construction projects involving earthwork, concrete and bituminous paving, site improvements, and street/utility construction. Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or a related field. Possession of applicable FDOT Technical Certifications or the ability to obtain them within six months of employment. Previous experience and working knowledge of AutoCAD or MicroStation. Location This opportunity is open to candidates located near Tallahassee, Panama City, Destin, Pensacola, Fort Myers, Florida, or surrounding areas. Compensation Base compensation is expected to be in the range of $24 to $28 per hour, based on skill set and experience.
