Health Program Specialist

Position Description:

Primary point of contact to connect employees to appropriate resources while providing guidance to leaders and business partners regarding available support options. Responsible for maintaining behavioral health resources and coordination, workforce education, and program management throughout the organization.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:

• In partnership with Human Resources and Benefits teams, coordinate workforce wellbeing and mental health resources for all employees, including available resources, program enhancements, and provider networks. Maintain confidential documentation and case tracking in strict adherence with legal regulations, and company policies, including the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Determine relevant resources and/or course of action to recommend to employees, ensuring care and professionalism in sensitive situations. Ensure communication and coordination of wellness resources to employees, including Lyra Health, medical carriers and jobsite vendors such as medics, and community providers,
• Engage with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Human Resources (HR), Marketing, and Benefits communication consultants and other company stakeholders to develop and promote informational campaigns for leaders and employees regarding available mental health benefits, resources, and educational programs and deliver training related to mental health, stress management, substance misuse awareness, and suicide prevention.
• Collaborate with SVP HR, Legal, HR, Benefits team, and other relevant company stakeholders to provide immediate resource guidance and coordinate response efforts during self-harm incidents and escalated situations.
• Analyze program utilization data, referral outcomes, and engagement trends to measure program effectiveness; prepare reports with actionable recommendations for leadership to inform resource allocation and program development decisions.
• Generate and present program status updates to relevant stakeholders. Participate in and contribute to continuous improvement recommendations for workforce wellbeing discussions, trends, opportunities, and planning initiatives.
• Engage with company and project leaders, and other stakeholders to support adoption and support consistency of behavioral health programs and practices across business locations.
• Required to travel to business locations as needed.

• Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or associate Degree from accredited degree program preferred and minimum of 8 years of related experience preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Certified in World at Work Benefits Program, preferred
  • Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Instructor certification from National Council for Mental Wellbeing, or willingness to obtain
  • Experience within construction industry and familiarity with mental health awareness, suicide prevention, and substance misuse programs, preferred
  • Familiar with Workforce Wellbeing, Benefits, EAP, Behavioral Health Navigation, Case Management, or Employee Support Programs
  • Construction or construction-related industries or experience in large-size (10,000+ employees) organization, preferred
  • Knowledge of governing Federal laws (e.g., PPACA, ERISA, PPA, HIPPA, COBRA, and others) with ability to apply such knowledge to day-to-day situations and operational requirements
  • Knowledge of construction industry-specific mental health risk factors, including isolation, extended work hours, seasonal employment patterns, high-hazard environments, and substance misuse prevalence in trade workforce
  • Knowledgeable of company, Human Resources (HR), and Benefits policies and procedures
  • Exceptional customer service skills with commitment to employee-focused solutions, and use of active listening skills and strong follow-up practices
  • Professional interpersonal and presentation delivery skills; able to communicate effectively across levels within organization
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to use independent judgement to identify, solve, and escalate issues
  • Self-starter with project management skills and follow established procedures and execute directions to completion
  • Familiar with continuous improvement culture, concepts, principles, methods, and tools
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office suite of applications, knowledge of database software, and Human Resources
  • Information Systems (HRIS), and Benefits administration systems preferred
  • Limited travel
