Marketing Associate Full Time Knoxville, TN, US 3 days ago Requisition ID: 1006 MARKETING ASSOCIATE REPORTS TO: Marketing Director SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None DEPARTMENT: Advancement FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt LOCATION: On-Site, Knoxville JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Marketing Director , the Marketing Associate supports the creation and execution of all internal marketing and communications initiatives of the Historic Tennessee Theatre Foundation (HTTF), a nonprofit organization. This is a full-time, non-exempt hourly position. This position provides information and aid to enhance the vital mission, identity, and role of this non-profit organization in Knoxville and beyond. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Compose pre- and post-show communications, working closely with Audience Services, the Box Office, and Events team to provide the most updated, comprehensive information for patrons. Track and report on the performance of marketing and audience service communications. Become proficient in TM1 and Engage to pull lists and send emails. Proofread/copy edit weekly newsletters sent by Live Nation. Support the Marketing & Communications Manager and Marketing Director in implementing and executing marketing campaigns, initiatives, and communications. Assist in the distribution of promotional materials, including flyers, social media posts, and newsletters. Stay engaged with the marketing calendar and assist the Marketing & Communications Manager with scheduling and logistics. Work with the Development team members for targeted fundraising email communications. Support the Education/Outreach team with any email marketing/communications needs that arise. Update the website as needed/directed by the Marketing & Communications Manager and Marketing Director. Assist in managing the theatre's social media accounts and website content, ensuring consistent messaging. Create event descriptions when necessary. Other Duties Provide support to Gift Shop management as needed: order fulfillment, event sales, etc. Provide support for concert/show, Theatre services, sales, development, educational, and/or institutional activities and projects as needed. Works on special projects, initiatives, promotions, and other programs as needed. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Ability to understand marketing strategies and communications. Manage multiple projects simultaneously and keep track of various tasks. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite products including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PPT; knowledge of TM Engage is a plus. Ability to write creatively and with proper grammar. Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, messaging and in person. Ability to present information to groups or audiences comfortably. Ability to think creatively to develop innovative approaches to engage the community and stakeholders. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required. This role requires the ability to drive to off-site venues and locations for programmatic needs (e.g.: schools for play/theatre performances, outreach venues, community partners, etc.) Ability to stand or sit for extended periods; good mobility and stamina are essential. Ability to lift moderate weight (25-30 lbs.) for the purpose of moving outreach materials (brochures, banners, boxes, equipment). Computer literate with the ability to communicate via email, Teams messaging, phone, and text. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in marketing or communications, Arts Administration, or a related field. 1-2 years’ experience working in marketing or communications; experience within a not-for-profit theater company or equivalent organization is a plus. Familiarity with digital marketing tools and social media platforms. ABOUT THE TENNESSEE THEATRE The Tennessee Theatre is an ornate, 1600-seat historic movie palace fully renovated into a multi-purpose performing arts venue. With over 220 booked days, it hosts more than 175 events annually, ranging from touring concerts, comedy, and Broadway; resident symphony, opera, and jazz performances; classic movies; children and family events; patron events; and private rental events. It is a treasured architectural landmark, a cultural cornerstone of the region, and an entertainment destination beloved by generations of audiences. The HTTF mission is t o preserve, maintain, and operate the Official State Theatre of Tennessee as an arts and entertainment cornerstone for the cultural enrichment and enjoyment of all. The Theatre has recently acquired and renovated a neighboring building (24,000 sf spread over seven levels) that is physically connected to the Theatre building and used primarily to enhance and expand Theatre programming (pre- and post-show receptions, private intermission lounges, rehearsal and educational spaces, and more) as well as additional private rental use. The new spaces are complete, and full activation of this building is expected in 4Q 2026.
