Compensation Specialist

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Compensation Specialist to support a high-impact classification and compensation initiative. This role will focus on creating and maintaining a centralized job description database, standardizing job documentation, and ensuring position information is accurate, current, and compliant. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional with experience in compensation, job analysis, or classification projects who enjoys process improvement and working with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain a centralized database of job descriptions for all organizational positions. Develop and implement a standardized job description template. Review existing job descriptions, identify outdated or missing documentation, and prioritize updates. Partner with hiring managers and department leaders to draft and revise job descriptions. Ensure consistency in job documentation, classification language, and FLSA compliance. Track project progress and provide regular status updates on completion. Review and maintain position data within the HRIS, ensuring accuracy and data integrity. Support compensation and classification initiatives through reporting, documentation, and project coordination. Assist with process improvements and other HR projects as assigned. Qualifications Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience). Minimum 2 years of experience in compensation, job analysis, HR generalist, or a related HR role involving job descriptions. Experience developing or maintaining job description templates or job libraries is preferred. Working knowledge of FLSA classifications and job evaluation principles is a plus. Experience with HRIS or compensation management systems required. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent written communication skills with the ability to create clear, concise, and accurate job descriptions. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and meeting deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
