Systems Engineer Lead — Germantown, MDA federal science and research organization is expanding its enterprise engineering team, and weare hiring the lead for it. This is the senior technical authority on the systems engineeringfunction — you set the architecture direction, you own the lifecycle, and you lead theengineers doing the work.Responsibilities:Lead and develop a team of systems engineers, setting priorities and technical direction.Own enterprise IT design and documentation across cloud, on-premise and hybrid environments.Guide secure integration plans, configuration baselines and architecture artifacts.Direct alternatives analysis and cost-benefit analysis for modernization initiatives.Act as the escalation point for complex systems issues, outages and maintenance events.Serve as the senior interface between engineering staff and programme leadership.Evaluate emerging technology for scalability, resilience and security across the enterprise.Requirements:U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain a Public Trust (Tier 2 / MBI)investigation. No active security clearance is required.Demonstrated leadership of systems engineering teams and projects.Expertise equivalent to certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft 365Enterprise Administrator Expert, CCNP, VMware VCP, or comparable security and platformcredentials.Proven record in secure system design, lifecycle integration and transition to operations.Interdisciplinary strength across systems engineering, cybersecurity and operations.On-site in Germantown, MD.
