A Pharmacy Technician is critical in processing patient prescriptions and managing pharmacy inventory. The job requires friendly, caring, and accurate service. General job functions include using the Pioneer RX software system to enter patient, inventory, and prescription information, providing general answers and directions to products and services that the pharmacy offers, and ensuring the work area remains neat and orderly.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

• One year as a technician in a retail pharmacy (preferred)
• Ability to successfully interact with co-workers, healthcare professionals, and patients in a friendly, caring, and professional manner
• Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner
• Ability to work with a computer
• Able to learn and adapt quickly in a dynamic work environment
• Able to perform basic mathematical calculations in an accurate manner
• Detail-oriented and inclined to few mistakes

COMMUNICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Able to read, write and speak English correctly. Spanish is a plus.
• Able to communicate well and with respect with all patients/customers, employees and supervisors
• Able to operate as a TEAM PLAYER

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Be in good general health
• Have good/corrected vision in order to read labels on bottles, use computers and differentiate colors
• Able to stand and work steadily for long periods of time
• Able to lift and carry a minimum of 20 pounds
• Hearing and Speech to communicate in person and over the phone
• Manual dexterity to perform job functions
• May be occasionally asked to move 50 pounds

REPORTS TO:

• Pharmacist on Duty
• Assistant Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacy Manager or General Manager
