Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for multiple nonprofit entities, including employee earnings, deductions, benefits, garnishments, and tax withholdings.
• Review timesheets, leave balances, and payroll changes to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Prepare payroll reports, reconcile payroll-related accounts, and coordinate payroll tax filings and year-end reporting, including W-2s.
• Prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
• Reconcile bank and investment accounts and support the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, assist with grant reporting, and prepare required tax and regulatory filings while maintaining audit-ready documentation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of payroll and accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit or multi-entity organization.
• Experience processing payroll using ADP Workforce Now required.
• Strong understanding of payroll regulations, payroll tax reporting, and accounting principles.
• Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
• Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to handle confidential employee and financial information.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
