Job Description

This role is responsible for inspecting, packaging, wrapping, labeling, and preparing finished flexible packaging products for shipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will help ensure that products meet strict quality standards, follow detailed work instructions, and contribute to a safe, team-oriented workplace.

Responsibilities

• Receive finished rolls, pouches, and packaging materials from production lines and ensure they are handled safely and efficiently.
• Visually inspect products for quality defects, including printing, sealing, and packaging issues, and identify any nonconforming materials.
• Wrap, band, and package finished products according to customer specifications and written work instructions.
• Apply labels, product identification tags, and shipping documentation accurately to ensure proper traceability and shipment.
• Assemble boxes, pallets, and other packaging materials as needed to support production and shipping activities.
• Stack, palletize, and prepare finished goods for warehouse storage or outbound shipment.
• Verify product counts, confirm packaging accuracy, and ensure all items meet quality and documentation requirements.
• Work collaboratively with coworkers in the cleanroom, lab, and production floor to maintain smooth workflow and meet production goals.
• Perform repetitive measurements and quality checks on pouches, typically making multiple measurements per pouch as part of quality testing.
• Communicate identified defects or quality concerns to machine operators promptly so that issues can be corrected.
• Follow written and verbal instructions carefully to ensure consistent quality and adherence to procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and comply with all safety, cleanroom, and PPE requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing, packaging, warehouse, or assembly experience is a plus.
• Experience with general labor, production, or general production work is beneficial.
• Experience in packing, labeling, labelling, picking, and packaging tasks is advantageous.
• Familiarity with inventory processes and material handling is helpful.
• Ability to use basic hand tools and assist with loading and palletizing materials.
• Comfort working with films, foils, chemicals, and peelable solutions in a controlled environment.

Work Environment

This is a 2nd shift position, working Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with initial training on 1st shift for approximately 4–6 weeks from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Work takes place primarily in a cleanroom environment where personal protective equipment and steel-toed shoes are required. The setting is team-based, with close collaboration among coworkers in the lab and production floor. A significant portion of the role involves sitting and performing detailed quality checks and tests, including multiple measurements per pouch, alongside a small team in the cleanroom. You will work with films, foils, chemicals, and peelable solutions under controlled conditions. Clients may occasionally visit the facility, so professional conduct is important. Fragrances and phone use in the lab are not allowed to maintain a clean, compliant environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Addison, IL.

The pay range for this position is $18.90 - $18.90/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
