Job Description

This role focuses on setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes to produce precision components using Haas machines with Fanuc controls. The CNC Machinist interprets blueprints and engineering plans, performs drilling, grooving, and cutting operations across 35 axis equipment, and ensures all parts meet strict quality and dimensional specifications through thorough inspection and adherence to safety and ISO standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills and CNC lathes, including 35 axis equipment, to produce precision parts according to work orders and engineering requirements.
• Review and interpret work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, machining parameters, and geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
• Install and adjust conventional CNC mill and lathe components such as three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, stock pushers, and vices, including trimming heads as needed.
• Perform drilling, grooving, cutting, turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing operations while maintaining required specifications.
• Observe machining operations to detect malfunctions, troubleshoot processes, and adjust or reprogram controls to maintain part quality and productivity.
• Sharpen and replace worn tools and cutting implements to ensure consistent machining performance and surface finish.
• Retrieve CNC programs from the network using machine controls and ensure correct program selection for each job.
• Change cutting tools and adjust the location of the work piece during the machining process as specified in setup and job instructions.
• Measure first-run parts and sample work pieces to verify machine settings, confirming conformance to standards and specifications.
• Perform detailed parts inspection, including checking cutter size and wear, and apply program edits to accommodate actual cutter diameters to keep parts within tolerance.
• Adhere to established quality assurance procedures and processes throughout all machining and inspection activities.
• Follow TGC procedures, safety protocols, and ISO standards to maintain a safe and compliant manufacturing environment.

This is a Permanent position based out of El Monte, CA.

The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $77000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
