About the Role

The Company is in need of a Fractional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide senior-level financial strategy, executive guidance, and financial governance for a complex organization. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to the Executive Director, Executive Team, and Board, offering strategic oversight of financial sustainability, risk, forecasting, budgeting, grants, audits, and major financial decisions. Key responsibilities include leading long-range financial planning, scenario modeling, and strategic financial analysis, as well as providing executive oversight of annual budgeting and reforecasting. The role also involves strengthening financial governance, internal controls, and risk management practices, and coaching the Director of Finance & Accounting. Applicants for the Fractional CFO position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' of financial leadership experience, with a strong background in financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, audits, internal controls, and executive/Board-level reporting. Experience in a nonprofit, association, or similarly complex environment with multiple funding sources and regulatory requirements is essential. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, active CPA certification, and strong executive communication, advisory, and stakeholder-management skills. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned financial leader capable of operating at the executive and Board level, and adept at translating complex financial information into actionable recommendations to enhance the organization's financial strategy and governance.
