Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available. Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed. Record and update patient information, including medical history and vital signs, in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental operatory, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow within the office, including acting as a dental receptionist when required. Utilize dental systems effectively, including experience with Dentrix and Dexis for patient management. Support the dentist with 3D scanning technology when applicable, enhancing treatment planning and patient outcomes. Experience The ideal candidate will possess: Previous experience in dental assisting or a related field is preferred. Expanded duties preferred (making temporaries, packing cord, taking impressions) Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure compliance with safety protocols and patient care standards. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated to manage individual tasks efficiently.
