Probation Officer

Supervisory and administrative work at a professional level in a Probation & Parole office. Under the supervision of a Community Corrections District Manager, performs administrative and supervisory work required in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of correctional services. Supervision is exercised over casework and security employees, volunteers and contractors. Extensive liaison occurs with correctional, law enforcement, and service provider personnel. Oversees the development of work, education, housing, restorative justice and criminogenic needs reducing programs. All employees of the Agency of Human Services perform their respective functions adhering to four key practices: customer service, holistic service, strengths-based relationships and results orientation. Job duties require private means of transportation and some travel is expected. Evening and weekend work may occur. Emergency situations may require availability at any time. Direct contact with offenders is predictable and poses possible danger. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent AND five(5) years or more of work experience, including three(3) years in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of correctional services for clients in a human services setting.
