Governmental Entity Liability Associate

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Governmental Entity Liability Associate in Costa Mesa. This role offers remote work flexibility, allowing for a portion of the workweek to be conducted remotely. The position involves working with a specialized team representing public entities in various cases, including dangerous condition claims and law enforcement officer liability matters. Duties Manage discovery, including propounding and responding to discovery, drafting and arguing motions, and taking and defending depositions. Provide timely and accurate reporting to clients, ensuring compliance with case management requirements. Evaluate, analyze, assess, and execute litigation strategies. Proactively manage communications with clients throughout litigation. Requirements Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. Active membership in the California State Bar and in good standing. Prior law enforcement and/or military experience is a plus. Criminal defense experience is welcomed. Exceptional communication and advocacy skills, both verbal and written. Excellent time management skills and ability to manage and meet deadlines. Education Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. Certifications Active membership in the California State Bar.
