Medical Assistant

Sierra Pacific Orthopedics, the leading full-service orthopedic group in the San Joaquin Valley, is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to add to one of our Orthopedic Specialty Practices.

Performs administrative and clinical duties in coordination with the Physician to provide quality health care to patients.

Completion of a technical program for Medical Assisting

Strong communication skills with staff, physicians and patients

Good analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to prioritize work flow in a fast-paced team environment

Strong computer skills, Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience, preferably with Nextgen

Rooming patients and taking vitals

Documenting patient information in EMR

Assist and setup procedures

Arrange and pre-certify MRIs, CRs and DMEs as needed

Assist front office in checking patients in/out and scheduling

Rx refills through physician

Position requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Some patient assistance will be required. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone and other office equipment is also required. Employee must have normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports.

Normal clinical working environment.

Compensation: $23-$30/hr
