This position offers a highly competitive hourly rate, immediate start, and an enriching work environment.Quick Facts:Location: Jena, LA, United StatesStart Date: 10/01/2026End Date: 07/31/2027Shift: 8-10 hour shifts, 40 hours/weekHours per Week: 40Employment Type: Independent Contractor (1099)Certifications: Valid license to practice medicine in Louisiana; DEA registration; BLS/CPR certificationsExperience: Minimum 1 year of direct patient care; experience in detention/correctional or residential healthcare setting preferredPay & Benefits:Hourly Rate: $160.00Benefits Include: Competitive pay packagesWeekly pay schedule via direct depositRobust referral bonus program24/7 dedicated team supportLicensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicableWhat You'll Do:Provide primary care services to detainees at a correctional facilityConduct physical assessments, initial and follow-up evaluationsManage acute and chronic conditions across all age groupsAssist with as-needed medical emergencies and coordinate careReview and approve outside referrals and specialist consultationsSupervise and collaborate with nursing, pharmacy, and medical staffMaintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA and Privacy Act policiesParticipate in facility quality improvement activities and staff trainingRespond promptly to medical needs during scheduled shifts and on-call rotationsWhat You Need:Valid medical license and DEA registration in Louisiana1+ year of clinical experience, preferably in detention or residential healthcare settingsProficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office SuiteBasic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certificationsStrong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently, adapt to changing schedules, and serve a diverse patient populationFluency in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus but not requiredAbout the Assignment:Join a reputable facility in Jena, LA, committed to delivering urgent and primary care to detainees.
