Mechanical and Electrical Assembler – Small Power Drives

This role focuses on the mechanical and electrical assembly of small power drives and related components. You will work with small hand and power tools, follow detailed engineering documents and schematics, and ensure that all assembled products meet quality standards. The position requires careful attention to detail, consistent documentation, and regular use of a computer to update manufacturing job status.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of small power drives and associated components.
• Use small hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete assembly tasks.
• Assemble products by accurately following engineering documents, schematics, and blueprints.
• Operate a computer system to update and maintain the manufacturing status of assigned jobs.
• Continually monitor the quality of parts and materials used throughout the assembly process.
• Complete and maintain all required production, quality, and tracking paperwork in a timely manner.
• Follow established safety procedures and best practices while working with tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure production goals and quality standards are met.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of experience in mechanical or electrical assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering documents, schematics, and blueprints.
• Proficiency in using small hand tools and power tools for assembly work.
• Experience with mechanical assembly of small parts and components.
• Experience with electrical assembly, including working with wiring and electrical components.
• Basic computer skills to update and track manufacturing job status.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

Work Environment

The role is based in a very clean manufacturing facility focused on small part assembly. Work involves no heavy lifting, making it suitable for those who prefer light, detail-oriented tasks. The position operates on structured shifts, with 1st shift running from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 2nd shift from 2:45 p.m. to 11:15 p.m. You will work with small hand and power tools, follow documented procedures, and use computer systems to track job progress. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and adherence to standard work practices, with appropriate work attire that supports safe use of tools and equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Allis, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
