Executive Chef

The Executive Chef is a full-time, on-site role based in Live Oak, FL, responsible for overseeing all culinary operations within Advent Christian Village’s dining services. This position plans menus, supervises food preparation, ensures consistent quality and presentation, and maintains high standards of food safety and sanitation. The Executive Chef manages kitchen staff scheduling, training, and performance, while monitoring inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling food and labor costs. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with nutrition professionals to meet the dietary needs of senior adults and other residents, coordinating with other departments to support special events, and adapting menus for a variety of service formats. The role also focuses on creating a welcoming dining experience that aligns with ACV’s mission of compassionate care and community. Qualifications Professional culinary skills, including menu planning, cooking techniques, and food presentation. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and regulatory compliance in a healthcare or senior living setting. Experience in kitchen management, including staff supervision, training, and scheduling. Ability to manage inventory, monitor costs, and work within budget guidelines. Strong leadership, organizational and time management skills for coordinating multiple meal services and events is required. Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with residents, staff, and leadership teams. Experience in senior living, healthcare dining, or high-volume food service is highly beneficial. Formal culinary education or certification and relevant food handler/ServSafe credentials with a minimum of two years' experience in food service management are required.
