Ensure product quality and grade accuracy by performing physical assays, running spectrometric analysis, and applying statistical process controls to verify that sorted aluminum meets specification.

Key Responsibilities

• Pull physical assays by weight and piece count.
• Operate the spectrometer to verify alloy chemistry (training provided if not already proficient).
• Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles to monitor and evaluate production quality.
• Calculate and track general process capability (Cpk) metrics.
• Monitor and report PPM (parts per million) quality/defect levels.
• Maintain accurate records and flag off-spec material.

Requirements

• Excellent punctuality and disciplined attendance.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to run or be trained on a spectrometer.
• Working knowledge of SPC principles, Cpk, and PPM (or willingness to learn).

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Work environment varies between brief outdoor exposure to weather conditions and the interior sorting facility, including dust and ambient conditions.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
