The goal is to unlock the full potential in each colleague – empowering our people to grow as insurance professionals and add more value to our customers and AIG.How You Will Create an ImpactManaging and underwriting a book of excess casualty Fortune 1000 accounts within budgeted GWP and profitability thresholdsAdhering to authority levels and ensuring adequate and timely file management in accordance with department guidelinesEffectively negotiating terms, conditions and premiums with our Bermuda brokersConducting a client meeting in a very polished and professional mannerEnsuring underwriting files are kept in a neat and organized manner with thorough documentation adhering to all AIG and AIG Cat Excess audit guidelinesMaintaining good time management skills and leading by example with proper punctuality and timelinessAdhering to AIG's code of conductAdhering to all underwriting authority guidelinesMaintaining and promoting a professional work environmentMaintaining and expanding broker relationships through marketing calls and superior serviceOrganizing, responding to, quoting and managing all submission and renewal activityCross-market with Cat Excess Financial Lines team, US and London excess casualty teamsAdhering to AIG Cat Excess underwriting guidelines, including AIG best practicesEnsuring quality and timely file managementAny other duties as assignedWhat You'll Need to SucceedBachelor's degree, preferably in insurance or a related field with a minimum of three (3) years of brokering and/or underwriting Fortune 1000 accounts.Detailed technical knowledge in excess casualty exposures, coverage and pricingExcellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the organization and the ability to interact personally with all levels of staffStrong knowledge and experience in working Windows-based applications particularly Excel, Word, Access and Microsoft OutlookMaintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all timesSelf-motivated with the ability to work effectively and independently without direct supervisionStrong ability to organize and prioritize demanding workloads with a commitment to meeting deadlinesProven ability to make sound underwriting decisionsMust be willing to work overtime (including evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary)Ready to make a bigger impact?
