Description

Responsible for providing advanced maintenance service to the Hanover Frozen operation utilizing highly developed maintenance skills and knowledge. Must successfully complete the company administered test(s) or apprenticeship program of knowledge in maintenance. Also, responsible for continually updating maintenance skills and knowledge.

1. Performs the repair, installation and maintenance of all plant equipment and buildings (frozen operation) under minimal supervision.
2. Demonstrates consistent improvement in knowledge and skills as outlined in the criteria for advancement.
3. Reports any equipment or building condition (frozen operation) requiring repair to Plant Manager or Leaderson.
4. Performs preventative maintenance as required.
5. Completes documentation as required by the Plant Manager or Leadperson.
6. Position requires lifting and handling of heavy objects.
7. Adheres to common safety practices and procedures including the wearing of protective equipment and clothing as required. Reports any safety issues to supervisor immediately.
8. Assists other mechanics in maintaining high level of productivity in the frozen plant to include leadership and direction.
9. Adheres to Company's plant hygiene standards to ensure high product integrity.
10. Keeps work area clean in accordance with good housekeeping practices.
11. Develops ability to use the computerized maintenance management system to enter work requests and retrieve data on plant equipment.
12. Must furnish your own tools as needed to perform the job.
13. Requests materials necessary for the completion of designated job assignments.
14. Successfully completes job assignments with high skill levels in the areas of welding, cutting, brazing, pipe fitting, hydraulics, fabrication, and installation as required.
15. Reads and interprets prints and manuals to effectively carry out job assignments.
16. Responsible for following food safety, legality and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities such as but not limited to: GMP's, HACCP, safety, product quality, food security, plant security, etc.
17. Performs other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager or Leadperson.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in food processing
• General knowledge of food processing principles
• Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Basic math skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

• Ability to work in all environments (hot and cold)
• Must be able to work mandatory overtime as required
