About the Role

The Company is seeking a Founding Chief Executive Officer to lead the establishment and development of an organization dedicated to addressing significant environmental challenges in the Gulf region. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the organization's strategic direction, structure, and external presence, with a focus on one to three core priorities that can drive meaningful impact across the U.S., Mexico, and Cuba. This role demands a leader with a deep commitment to environmental stewardship, the ability to navigate complex political and cultural landscapes, and a proven track record in organizational and team leadership. The CEO will work closely with the Board of Directors to set clear goals, ensure accountability, and build a high-performing team capable of operating independently across functions and geographies. Key responsibilities for the CEO include organizational leadership and strategy, cross-border stakeholder engagement, team building, and external partnership development. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in Spanish and English, with 10-15 years' experience in Gulf or marine conservation, and a strong background in working with diverse stakeholder groups. While not mandatory, experience in fundraising, policy, or conservation functions is highly valued. The role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, the ability to adapt to different audiences, and a proven ability to translate complex issues into clear, actionable plans. The CEO will also be instrumental in establishing the organization's credibility, building trust with external stakeholders, and ensuring that the organization's efforts are aligned with the distinct political, cultural, and institutional realities of the region.
