Performance Leader

Job Overview Moog Military Aircraft Group, a leader in flight control equipment and systems, is seeking a Performance Leader to oversee the Assembly and Test area in Torrance, CA. The role reports to the Process Manager and follows a 9/80 onsite work schedule. Responsibilities Identify, implement, and measure short‑ and long‑term team objectives that align with the company’s strategic plan. Motivate team members and coordinate support groups to accomplish area objectives. Execute standard work and established processes to ensure maximum utilization and efficiency of personnel and equipment, meeting manufacturing schedules and delivery commitments. Hire external talent and evaluate team personnel for performance management and talent growth. Manage employee relations issues before they become major challenges, including counseling, discipline, and performance feedback. Create team goals and maintain a competent, effective work group through technical assistance, instruction, training, development, and motivation. Ensure safe working conditions, good housekeeping, and the prevention of job injuries to reduce lost time. Maintain accurate employee time reporting. Administer employee policies fairly and consistently to promote good organization and employee relations. Optimize equipment utilization by comparing workload against department capacity and making load‑matching decisions. Support Lean Operations by executing Tier I meetings, participating as a Tier II meeting member, adhering to functional process metrics and targets. Provide support for access to U.S. export‑controlled information. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience and six years of directly related experience in a production environment, including prior supervision or team lead experience. Knowledge of functional manufacturing responsibilities and interaction with supporting departments such as Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, Quality Assurance, Tooling Services, and Material. Demonstrated leadership skills, sound judgment, strong organization, and excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to define and prioritize goals and objectives such as inventory reduction and lead‑time shortening. Ability to build and maintain teamwork across departments, suppliers, and customers. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Leadership experience. Preferred: data‑driven mindset. Preferred: experience in manufacturing and the aerospace industry.
