You will support classroom instruction, manage daily operations (arrival, lunch, dismissal), and play a critical role in family communication. You will assist the Site Coordinator in ensuring families stay informed and engaged while helping teachers deliver high-quality, student-centered English Language Development. Total Hours & Schedule (Summer 2026) Pre-Program Planning & Outreach: 15 hours total (Completed in June or earlier). Focus: Family communication, outreach, and attending the staff orientation meeting. Program Duration: 4 Weeks (July 6 – July 31, 2026) Summer Program Hours: 10 hours per week (40 hours total). Daily Schedule: Monday – Thursday (Specific 2.5-hour daily shift to be coordinated with the Site Coordinator, e.g., 8:00 am – 10:30 am or 11:30 am – 2:30 pm). Role Responsibilities Teaching and Learning: Collaborate with ELSA teachers to deliver instruction during academic blocks. Lead small-group centers to help students master specific English language skills. Support students in 1:1 or whole-class models to ensure they stay focused and on-task. Assist in implementing accommodations and specialized instructional strategies. Provide coverage where needed – classroom, lunchroom, recess, etc. Family Support & Daily Operations: Assist the Site Coordinator with family outreach and maintaining open lines of communication with multilingual households. Monitor students during arrival, breakfast, recess, lunch, and dismissal. Assist staff in monitoring students during field trips and escorting students safely throughout the building or on/off buses. Facilitate social interactions and model language use between peers; assist with classroom management under the direction of the lead teacher.
