Welder IIIThe Welder III position is an advanced level welder and will be responsible for pressure vessel welding of carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum using TIG and MIG welding equipment. Must be able to perform x-ray quality welds. Candidate will be responsible for reading fabrication prints, routes, standard work instructions, and/or manuals to weld various systems.Principal activities include:Operating heating torches, band saw, radial drill, engine lathe, layout table, hand & power tools, welders and plasma torches.Working from route tags, blueprints and sketches to determine materials needed for fab.Determining weld requirement from a print. Ability to determine the best method of layout, fit-up and assembly from print.Fitting assembly and welding as needed to avoid weld distortion.Flame straightening as required.Performing MIG and TIG welds to include base plates (structural) and piping.Using measuring instruments such as a tape measure, fillet weld gauges, Cam gauges, scale, level, square, and burning templates.Removing burrs and sharp edges, marking and identifying finished and raw materials to maintain heat numbers for traceability.Performing other job-related duties as needed.Candidate requirements knowledge skills and abilities include:Ability to obtain in-house structural welding certification.Certification or ability to certify to ASME IX. This includes pressure vessel and pipe welding. GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG).Familiarity with ASME IX and AWS D1.1 welding codes.Proficient in understanding and reading blueprints and WPS's.Use of trades mathematics, together with the use of drawings, specifications, charts, tables, handbook formulas; all varieties of precision measuring instruments.
