Akkodis is seeking a Laboratory Technician for a contract job in Blue Ash Ohio, Onsite, United States. Pay Range: $30/hr - $31/hr on W2 (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors) Posti o n: Laboratory Technician Duration: 12M+, Possibile to extend Experience Required:1-5+Year We are seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician (Tissue/Cell Culture Technician) to support research, development, and testing activities. The successful candidate will perform mammalian cell culture, biocompatibility testing, tissue engineering support, and laboratory operations in compliance with regulatory and quality standards. This role will work closely with R&D scientists, engineers, and quality teams to evaluate medical device materials, coatings, and implants for safety and performance. Key Responsibilities Perform routine mammalian cell culture activities including cell thawing, passaging, expansion, maintenance, and cryopreservation. Prepare and maintain cell culture media, buffers, reagents, and laboratory supplies. Conduct biocompatibility and cytotoxicity testing of medical device materials in accordance with ISO 10993 standards. Support evaluation of biomaterials, coatings, implants, wound care products, and tissue-engineered constructs. Monitor cell morphology, growth characteristics, viability, and contamination using microscopy and analytical techniques. Perform cell counting, viability assays, and sample preparation for downstream analysis. Maintain aseptic laboratory practices and operate within biosafety cabinets and controlled laboratory environments. Support tissue engineering studies involving cell seeding, scaffold preparation, and cell-material interaction assessments. Collect, analyze, and document experimental data accurately according to SOPs and quality requirements. Maintain laboratory equipment including incubators, microscopes, centrifuges, biosafety cabinets, and cell counters. Participate in laboratory investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions related to testing activities. Ensure compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, GLP, GMP, and company quality system requirements. Assist in preparing technical reports, protocols, and validation documentation. Support internal audits, inspections, and quality assurance activities. Required Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or related Life Science field. 1–5+ years of hands‑on cell culture or tissue culture laboratory experience. Experience working with mammalian cell lines using aseptic techniques. Knowledge of cell culture principles, media preparation, and contamination control. Experience operating biosafety cabinets, CO₂ incubators, microscopes, and laboratory instrumentation. Strong documentation and laboratory record-keeping skills. Ability to follow SOPs and laboratory safety procedures. Experience in medical devices, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or tissue engineering environments. Knowledge of ISO 10993 biocompatibility testing requirements. Experience with cytotoxicity assays, ELISA, PCR, flow cytometry, or immunostaining techniques. Familiarity with FDA regulations, GLP, GMP, and ISO 13485 quality systems. Experience supporting biomaterials, implants, regenerative medicine, or tissue‑engineering projects. Understanding of cell-material interactions and medical device safety evaluations.
