Lab Technician

Job Summary The Lab Technician supports laboratory-based scientific investigations by carrying out routine technical tasks and experiments. Responsibilities Receive, label, prepare, and analyze laboratory samples in accordance with established procedures. Conduct routine laboratory tests and experiments under defined conditions. Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines at all times. Accurately record test data, observations, and results in paper and/or electronic formats. Assist in reviewing and interpreting test results, escalating any inconsistencies or unexpected findings. Maintain laboratory equipment, tools, and work areas in clean and proper working condition. Support inventory tracking and assist with ordering laboratory supplies as needed. Prepare materials, samples, and equipment for testing and experimentation. Assist with troubleshooting basic laboratory or testing issues. Collaborate with the Innovation, Quality Control, and Process Innovation teams as needed. Maintain confidentiality and proper documentation of laboratory work, findings, and company information. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate degree in science, engineering, chemistry, materials science, or a related technical field required. Prior laboratory experience preferred. Experience in materials testing, plastics, polymers, calcium carbonate, or manufacturing environments is plus. Ability to follow detailed procedures and accurately document results. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and safety. Technical Skills Basic understanding of laboratory testing procedures and analytical methods. Ability to operate and maintain standard laboratory equipment. Strong data entry and documentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other basic computer applications. Ability to read, understand, and follow technical instructions, safety guidelines, and testing protocols. Management Skills Strong written and oral communication. Sound judgment and decision-making. Critical thinking and advanced problem solving. Ability to lead, train, and develop junior staff.
