Marketing Specialist Nielson Construction Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States About this position Description: Nielson Construction is hiring a Marketing Specialist to join our brand and growth team as a true hybrid contributor: roughly half graphic designer, half marketing generalist. No two weeks look the same — one day you're designing a listing flyer for our internal real estate team, the next you're coordinating an ad buy with a media vendor, writing a press mention, or helping plan a community event. This role is based within Nielson Construction and also supports other business lines across Nielson Companies, including our in-house real estate team. This role reports directly to the Head of Brand & Growth and will be the first hire into a one-person marketing function — meaning real ownership, real variety, and real growth as the department expands. Design experience is the priority for this hire. A solid design portfolio and at least 3 years of professional experience are required. The marketing, project management, and industry-specific pieces of this role can be trained — a sharp designer who is eager to grow into the marketing side is exactly who we're looking for. Competitive pay that rewards excellent performance FREE Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance for employees Fun annual events, like the Nielson Nine golf tournament and the company holiday party Housing assistance with options for purchasing or renting 401(k) with up to 5% match Time off with options beyond just PTO Free Long-Term Disability Insurance and a $50,000 life insurance policy Referral bonuses for our growing team Employee Assistance Program Job Responsibilities Graphic Design Design marketing materials across print and digital — brochures, flyers, signage, email templates, and sales collateral for homes and communities Apply and maintain Nielson's brand standards (logo usage, color palette, typography) consistently across every asset Create design support for our internal real estate team — listing materials, community maps, floor plan graphics, and signage Support branding work across the Nielson portfolio, including community and sub-brand identities Keep multiple concurrent projects moving on deadline Marketing & Project Management Coordinate and traffic advertising — send creative and media buys to outside vendors, manage specs, placements, and deadlines Manage marketing projects end-to-end, from brief to execution, coordinating internal stakeholders and outside partners Support social media execution and coordination with our outside social media agency Assist with public relations efforts — media inquiries, and community/event visibility Contribute ideas and execution support to marketing strategy and campaign planning Support our internal real estate team with marketing collateral, listing promotion, and event or signage needs Help maintain the marketing calendar and track status across all active projects Requirements Minimum 3 years of professional graphic design experience, with a portfolio to show Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) or equivalent design tools A strong eye for brand consistency, layout, and typography Highly organized, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines at once Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience in marketing, advertising, or project coordination Familiarity with social media management or content planning Experience in real estate, home building, or a related industry PR or media relations experience This role is primarily an on-site, office-based role in Harrisburg, SD.
