As a Journeyman, you will be involved in the installation, commissioning and servicing of commercial building automation systems. This position requires a good working knowledge of basic electronic theory and Building Electrical / Mechanical systems.Key Responsibilities:Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new and existing installationsCut, bend, thread and install conduits and other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittingsPull wire through conduits and ceiling spacesSplice, join and connect wire to components to form complete control systemsAdhere to all company policies and proceduresPerform tasks with minimal supervision and in accordance with Ainsworth Health & Safety policies and proceduresPerform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by and in accordance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental company policies and government legislation/regulations.Some after hours and weekend workQualifications:Journeyman Electrician with Commercial experienceKnowledge of electrical theory and terminologyExperience with Fire Alarms is an assetAbility to read and draw simple electrical sketches and schematicsExcellent command of the English Language, both written and oralStrong attention to detail, ability to execute precision workCommercial/ Construction installations experienceClass 5 driver's license and clean driver's abstractWhile we appreciate all applications we receive, we advise that only candidates under consideration will be contacted.GDI Ainsworth is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace.
