Cook Full-time, 40 hours Schedule: Variable – 5:30 am – 2 pm AND/OR 9:30 am – pm (rotating weekends) Location: Juve Behavioral Health Pavilion – Akron, OH Pay: $17.20 – $23.38 per hour Summary Performs various hospital food‑service duties related to preparation and cooking (e.g., prepares, cooks, plates and/or serves food in bulk or individual portions) for patients and other customers following standard practices. Minimum Qualifications Formal Education: Proven ability to read and write English, follow written and oral instructions, perform basic mathematical functions, and prioritize tasks. Experience and Training: One (1) year of cooking and food preparation experience. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications: Ability to be active and on feet most of the day, lift, push and pull medium‑weight objects; occasionally lift heavy objects. Ability to withstand hot, humid, cold or icy temperatures due to heat‑producing equipment. Ability to prepare and assemble food. Knowledge of and compliance with local, state and federal food‑handling regulations. Ability to provide necessary care for patients (neonate, child, adolescent, young adult, middle‑aged adult, geriatric) as required. Population‑specific competency: effectively interact with patients/customers, respecting self‑respect and dignity. Physical Demands: Medium—exert 20‑50 pounds of force occasionally and 10‑25 pounds frequently or a negligible amount continuously to move objects.
