Certified Surgical Technologist

Certified Surgical Technologists play a key role in the interdisciplinary team. They provide comprehensive, compassionate care to the community. They practice within their full scope of responsibilities. They contribute to program development and care plans in a shared governance environment. They ensure that operative care standards are maintained. They prepare and set up surgical rooms based on specific needs. They assist with patient positioning and follow safety protocols. They identify and address safety hazards while adhering to infection control measures. They organize tasks to meet both patient and unit requirements. They adapt to changes in the work environment. They stay current with relevant education and policies. Physical requirements include frequent hand and finger use. They may be required to lift and carry items up to 40 lbs. They should be able to stoop, kneel, or crouch as needed. They should be capable of sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods. They must be able to operate job-related equipment. Specific vision abilities are required, including close vision and depth perception.
